Facing Kagamigaike Pond, which has a circumference of about 1 km, visitors can enjoy fishing and walking in the seasonal scenery.

Built in 1797, this is a wealthy farmer's residence that also served as the official residence of the former headman of Wari. The house has the characteristics of a farmhouse in a region with heavy snowfall, with stone walls along the old Aizu Highway and a Kabukimon gate, reminiscent of a medieval samurai residence. The main building is an imposing structure with a girder length of 16 ken and a beam length of 6 ken, and the staggered gables on the front give a sense of the dignity of a former samurai residence.

Shiozawa-juku Makino Street flourished as a post town along the Mikuni Highway linking Edo and Echigo, and developed as a production area for textiles, including the specialities Echigo Kamifu (important intangible cultural asset) and Shiozawa Tsumugi (traditional craft). The town is lined with rows of gan-gi, which are unique to the snow country, and offer a time-traveling experience.
In a corner of Nagamori, Minamiuonuma City, at the foot of the sacred mountain Hachikaisan (Mt. Hakkaisan), in a satoyama with a peaceful rural landscape, you will find peaceful spots such as Hachikaisan Yukimuro, Sobaya Nagamori with a café, shop and kitchen goods shop, Satoya, confectionery shop and Tsutsumiya Hachikura. Visitors can enjoy encounters with the real face of Uonuma, with its beautiful seasonal colours that invite nostalgia.
In 1221, the Kamakura Shogunate (Shogun Minamoto no Jitsucho) ordered the landowner Taira Shigeki to donate land to the Bishamondō Hall and appointed the monk Dōjōbō Benkaku as the Bessatsu of the Tennō Hall (Bishamondō Hall), and established the boundary in the western area of the Urasa River and issued a decree prohibiting the killing of people for ever. In order to spread this decree and to execute the temple's duties, the monk Dojo-bo Benkaku built a large temple complex here, which is said to be the origin of Fuko-ji.

The temple grounds are surrounded by numerous Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) statues, a 10-metre high Buddhist reliquary and old cedar trees over 300 years old, creating an atmosphere befitting a sacred site. There is a saying: 'Do you step on the soil of Undo-an?' This comes from a legend that if you visit the temple by stepping on the path from the red gate, where a sutra is written on each stone and buried, you will acquire Buddhist virtues.
Roadside Station Minamiuonuma consists of three facilities - the Imaizumi Memorial Hall, the Four Seasons Tasting Hall and the Relaxation Plaza - and is a sightseeing spot where visitors can enjoy the 'food, art, history and nature' of the snow country Minamiuonuma.

Throughout the year, the snow cellar is kept at a temperature of about 5°C and the wooden barrel ageing cellar at about 15°C, allowing visitors to see how the wines are matured in the right conditions.
Nature spot around Lake Daigenta at the foot of Mt Daigenta. Outdoor sports such as camping, glamping, kayaking and stand-up paddle (SUP) are available. Downstream is the Ogenta River No. 1 erosion control weir, an arch-type erosion control weir, which was registered as a 'Registered Tangible Cultural Property' in 2003 and recognised as a 'Selected Civil Engineering Heritage' by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 2011, and is recognised both nationally and internationally as a civil engineering structure with high historical and cultural value.

Yuzawa Town History and Folklore Museum 'Snow Country Museum'.
The Snow Country Museum allows visitors to experience the world of Kawabata Yasunari's novel Snow Country, which is set in the town of Yuzawa, as well as the lifestyle and history of Yuzawa, the 'Snow Country'. "Gallery 'Snow Country' World of Japanese Paintings" displays paintings depicting scenes from the novel Snow Country, including "Moon of Snow Country" by Tatsuo Takayama, who was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit. The exhibition includes background information on the novel and the secret story behind the filming of the film adaptation.
Footbath Kannakuri is located in the middle of the hot spring area starting at the west exit of Echigo Yuzawa Station. Perfect for a break on the route. Kannakuri is a dialect word for icicles.
The Daigenta hands-on workshop is located at the foot of Mt. Visitors can experience making and eating with their own hands the food culture (buckwheat noodle making, sasa dumplings, etc.) that has been cultivated in the Uonuma region, one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan.
Soto Zen temple where you can see the Niou statue by Ishikawa Uncho, who is hailed as the Michelangelo of Japan. Uncho's masterpiece, with painted limbs and body hair.
This masonry railway bridge spans the uppermost reaches of the Uono River on the JR Joetsu Line. More than 90 years after its construction, it is still in service and supports the railway. It was voted the second most beautiful railway bridge in Japan by a TV programme.
