Pottering course running at the foot of the Echigo Sanzan and Hakkaisan mountains. Starting from Muikamachi Station, the course takes you to the hometown of Hakkaisan, a sake brewery, and its characteristic museums. This course is suitable for beginners, who can enjoy cycling in the Uonuma Koshihikari rice paddies towards the end of the course.

Muikamachi Station is served by the JR Joetsu Line and the Hokuetsu Kyuko Hokuhoku Line. The Minamiuonuma Business Creation Centre, located in the station building, is a base facility for business start-ups and new businesses in Minamiuonuma City, and also offers immigration and settlement advice, a tourist information centre and rental bicycles.

Zenith Park

This Japanese garden-style park is located at the foot of Mount Sakado, where Uesugi Keikatsu and Naoe Kanetsugu spent their childhoods, and where Sakado Castle was built. Within the park is the Naoe Kanetsugu-ko Biographical Museum, an old house that has been relocated to resemble the birthplace of Naoe Kanetsugu.

This famous water is also used by local sake breweries. It is popularly known as 'Raiden-sama's water', after the legend that Raiden-sama, enshrined in a large horse chestnut tree, prevented lightning strikes in this area.

Tomioka White Museum of Art

This museum houses and permanently exhibits the 'White World Series' painted by Western-style painter Soichiro Tomioka. See the unique expression of black and white with an attractive brilliance known as 'Tomioka White' in a large space 10 metres wide and 50 metres deep.

Hakkaisan is a facility based on the theme of 'food and snow culture', located in the satoyama at the foot of Mount Hakkaisan. Hakkaisan Snow Chamber, where visitors can observe snow chamber storage, soba noodle shops, confectionary shops, cafés and many other spots are dotted around the vast site.

A stone monument erected in 1998 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the birth of Uonuma Koshihikari stands facing the farm road with a view of Mount Hakkaisan.

Footbath 'Oroku no Yu'

Located at the foot of the Muikamachi Bridge, the footbath can be enjoyed with a close view of Mount Sakado and the Uono River, and can soothe tired legs from cycling. The footbath can be enjoyed while sitting around the central table, where you can chat with the locals.
