Muikamachi Station is served by the JR Joetsu Line and the Hokuetsu Kyuko Hokuhoku Line. The Minamiuonuma Business Creation Centre, located in the station building, is a base facility for business start-ups and new businesses in Minamiuonuma City, and also offers immigration and settlement advice, a tourist information centre and rental bicycles.

Undo-an

This is the first temple in Echigo where Naoe Kanetsugu and Uesugi Kagayatsu spent their boyhoods. In the precincts of the temple is the Hojo Room, where the two spent their time studying. Also, under the stone pavement of the path leading from the red gate to the main hall, a Lotus Sutra is buried stone by stone, character by character.

Rural Experience Village by experts in country life in Minamiuonuma. Under the guidance of these masters, visitors can enjoy countryside experiences such as soba noodle making. You can also enjoy Minamiuonuma's local cuisine at the Inaka Restaurant, which uses plenty of local vegetables.

Noborigawa River Park

This river park is located along the Noboru River, a tributary of the Uono River, and is a popular spot for river play. The park has a large lawn area and a cycling course, which is closed to cars, allowing visitors to enjoy outdoor recreation in a relaxed atmosphere.

Mikuni Kaido Shiozawa-juku Makino Dori

The street has been awarded the Urban Landscape Grand Prize for its recreation of the unique snow-covered gangi and Edo Period Shiozawa Inn scenery. Nearby, there is a memorial museum to Suzuki Makiyuki, who wrote 'Hokuetsu Yukifu' in the Edo period, and Aoki Sake Brewery's 'Tsururei no brewing water'.

Uonuma Kurayu Farm Onigiriya

An onigiri shop with a long queue, directly managed by a farm that produces Minamiuonuma Koshihikari rice with a special attention to detail. The simple 'salted rice ball' is particularly recommended. The handmade 'Serious Katsu Curry' is also popular. Stop by if you get hungry.

Footbath 'Oroku no Yu'

Located at the foot of the Muikamachi Bridge, the footbath can be enjoyed with a close view of Mount Sakado and the Uono River, and can soothe tired legs from cycling. The footbath can be enjoyed while sitting around the central table, where you can chat with the locals.
