Presenting the 'Snowy Uonuma Golden Cycle Route and cycling events'.
The Snow Country Uonuma Golden Cycle Route is a 190-kilometre cycle route through the countryside, villages, beautiful mountain streams and hilly areas of Yuzawa Town, Minami Uonuma City and Uonuma City in south-central Niigata Prefecture, which can be described as the 'original landscape of Japan'.
The routes are attractive not only for their natural beauty, which is unique to the snow country with its four changing seasons, but also for the excellent culture and climate of the snow country scattered throughout the region. The route is relatively flat and has been selected for its low traffic volume, so that everyone can enjoy cycling safely and comfortably without worrying about cars.
In Minamiuonuma City, where the Snowy Uonuma Golden Cycle Route is set up, the JBCF Minamiuonuma Criterium and Minamiuonuma Gourmet Ride are held as part of the Minamiuonuma Cycle Festa, along with the JBCF Minamiuonuma Criterium and road races, to build momentum together with the local community.
